powerstroke guys
okay so normaly im a dodge guy but i came across a wrecked 95 or 96 stroker with the motor intact with about 150,000 on it i was wondering how much these used motors should go for price wise and power i have a 96 F-150 that could be lookin forward to a conversion:U: so any advise would be great!

psd motors are pretty expensive, i ve seen them run 1,000 on up to 3,500 for just a motor. if its the whole truck than go for it because you will need the engine harness, gauge cluster, and all the drive train.
all the guages are gone but the axles and t case is there
:humm: |
thats a start, only diff. in the gauges is the rpm range, and they also say "diesel fuel" on the fuel gauge. the glow plug and water in fuel light are in the info center to the right of the gauge cluster.
sounds like a fun conversion. as already said you will need everything that's under the hood all the way back to the rear axle. the PCM will be behind the drivers side kick panel. make sure all that is there. the gauge cluster isn't a huge deal, but i would get one from a powerstroke along with the wait to start and water in fuel lights. oh yeah and fuel lines and i would take the fuel tanks if possible..
do i need to box my frame or can i leave it C channel?
it couldnt hurt to box it i think your biggest upgrade will be your suspension to handle the extra weight of the diesel:choochoo:

^^^^^ wut he said:c:
go ford
change leafs and coils? cause thr front axles look really similar the stroke is a 97 my my
F1 is 96 |
if the stroke is a f-250 4x4 it has a dana 50 TTB. there pure junk. im not sure if your f1 is 4x4 but they have the similar pos suspension, just the powerstroke has leafs and your has coils. there a tad bit different but there the same design.
i have TTB on my f1 i like coils better than leafs
i would suggest getting a lift for the front of your truck, maybe a 4in so when you put the PSd in it it will sit close to level. or even a 6in lift if the diesel leaf springs fit in the rear.
1,000 to 3,500 sounds about right for a price range for a used psd, but with ur miles and depending on where u live could also factor for the price as well.
F150s 4x4 have IFS D44's, aswell with F250s with 5.0L gaz engines
so could the f1 suspension hold the PSD:humm:
