Sorry, I was gone for a few days -- but looks like he's got cha all fixed up... :)

after I put up that last question I saw the BOMB section for these trucks.
man, the 97 turbo is a royal pain and a half to get to/remove. I can't believe how much plumbing and mounts in there are hard mounted, with all the expanding/contracting that goes on with extreme heat cycles of a turbo! and the pancaked downpipe...I had to scratch my head for a bit. even in spite of some of the ridiculousness, it's my favorite body style ford/powerstroke. |
yah, and opening up that DP with a 3" one will do wonders for your EGT's!

I've heard you have to do quite a bit of 'massaging' of the firewall to fit a 4". this thing isn't going to be BOMBed a whole lot, just the basics as it's a full time work truck, so the 3" should be fine.

The trucks back on the road! Hope all the leaks are gone!!!! Now it's time to think about exhaust and other good things. greasemonkey was right about it being a pain! BTW, thanks for the help (and use of the shop!)
|
good deal good deal! :U: Glad you guys got it back up and running! I hear opening up the exhaust on those OBS trucks really helps!
|
yeap it sure does.
the factory down pipe should be the first thing to go, even on a stock truck. |
