New to Powerstrokes

Hey guys, I just got a 1996 F350. I bought it with some mods already done to it. It has 238/100 Hybrid Dynamite injectors, ARP studs, Wicked Wheel 2, TS 6 position chip, EGT and boost gauges. And I think that's it...

I was wondering what other mods I could throw on it to get some power? It runs pretty good now, I'm just wanting to tinker.

I'm still new to the diesel world so I'll be learning as I go. I look forward to learning alot here and making a strong running truck.

Thanks!

-Michael

A turbo and electric fuel. The turbo is way to small for those injectors

Okay, forgive me if this is a stupid question but what am I looking for in the turbo category? Why is mine too small? I'm just wondering how you know what size turbo to put with what size injectors... (Again..still learning)

Also, what do you mean by electric fuel?

Thanks for the response. I'm going to start doing some research on the suggested upgrades.

Yours is a stock turbo with an aftermarket wheel. It doesn't put out enough air to clean up those injectors. If it was me I would run an S366 and T4 mount from irate diesel.

Electric fuel replaces the factory mechanical fuel pump with an electric fuel pump. They put out more and have a constant pressure. The stock pump does not put out enough to correctly supply those injectors with the fuel pressure they need.

Okay. I think I understand. Would the basic kit from Irate do the trick? or is there something else in there that I need to have? Is it basically just the mount for the turbo that I need, along with the up-pipes?

What kind of hp rating is the s366 good for? I've been doing some research and some people have said that it isn't good for over 450hp? (I have no idea if this is accurate). Of course there were other that have said the turbo is good for more. I'd like to be sitting around the 500-550hp range when I'm all done. I'm not really sure if that's feasible, so tell me what to expect.

Thanks for the response! And the explanation, I've got to start somewhere!

The kit comes with the uppipes, mount, oil feed and drain and I'm sure I'm missing some things. But if you do that mount you have to have the electric fuel system because the turbo oil drain goes where the factory fuel pump was.

With the injectors you have you should be able be around the 500-550 HP and still be very nice to drive on the street.

So if I run that mount and an electric fuel system is that all I will need? I'm just trying to cover my bases because I daily drive this truck so my down time isn't really an option.

I'm also looking into the obs fuel system from Irate Diesel. What are your thoughts on this? My issue is I don't know what works together and what doesn't and I definitely don't want to have to buy things twice.

Here's the kit I'm looking at: http://www.iratediesel.com/store/buy-online/?slug=product_info&products_id=34

I run most of irates fuel system and it works great. They are top notch people to deal with. You can give them a call and Matt or Jake would be more then happy to explain things to you.

Excellent! Will do. Thanks for the info.

Is there anything else I should know about the electric fuel system? I just watched a pretty informative video on youtube of a guy doing one. It seems pretty straight forward for the most part.
