trouble starting
 

i have a 1995 7.3, and today the fuel filter light came on and didnt seem to lose and power. After stopping and later re starting it had lost power and died on me while driving. I could not get the truck to start after this. After getting it home i started looking around. The fuel filter was not dirty and i had just replaced it about a month ago. Also i check and cleaned the fpr screen. The tach does jump while trying to crank. The truck finally statred and had a extremly rough idle and was having trouble staying running and the died again. Now will not start again. I also have my "wait to start" light and have check fuse 22 in the fuse block. any one have any insight on what this issue may be ?

What is the fuel pressure? It sounds to me like the pump is weak or bad and it will only read when the injectors are pulling the fuel. If you need to make something up buy a cheap air chuck for tires and a gauge. Then hook it up to the shreader valve on the fpr
