Cold Start Puzzler

I know everybody is tired of hearing about these cold start issues, but my OBS is giving me some real trouble in the cold.
I have replaced all the plugs with motorcrafts and done the stancor relay mod with an led indicator in the cab. I have tested this system over and over with a multimeter. At the valvecover pins all the plugs ohm out between 1.7 and 1.9ohm. There is continuity between the output pole of the relay and the valve cover harnesses and the output pole of the relay is reading around 11volts when on. I know the pcm is grounding the relay because the led lights up for a minute or two depending on the temp.

I will cycle the plugs two or three times and still have a stumbling smokey startup in the morning. If I plug the block heater in then there is no smoke if it is around 35 in the morning. But even with the block heater the other morning was about 15 (first cold one of the season) and the truck barely got running and then ran like dog**** for twenty minutes.

Could there be another issue here? Or am I overlooking something?
Thanks guys

Hey,
I would look at the injectors. If you are running 15/40 in cold climates, older injectors have a tough time until the oil heats up and thins out. Dump the oil and filter then use 5/40 synthetic Rotella.

Yeah Ive been told before that the 5w is better in the winter, nut never needed to use it in the super duty I just got rid of. That truck was pushing 200k and never really gave me trouble in the cold. I guess ill have to try the oil for a bandaid at least for now. Just did plugs and relay. injector orings, oil cooler seals, starter and two interstate black top batteries. My wallet is definitely hurting right now
