96 F350 XLT rear end rebuild

i found out when i took my pumpkin cover off of my rear end that my bearings are bad i have all of the parts to do the rebuild but i need to know how to go about do this to my knowledge the rack and pinion is still good i dont know about the axels but i dont know how to get the axels out does anyone know about how to go about doing this or know a good link to look up tech tips to look for or anything like that i just dont know how to do this

i wouldnt try to set a ring and pinion myself but on the hubs you unbolt them and they slide right out

is that for the inner and the outers? the ring and pinion to my knowledge is still good its just bearings

never pulled the inner bearings, might need a puller once you have it all disassembled

do you know how to take the axels out of it? because i got the back tires off and the brakes i just dont know how to get the axels loose to check them

the bolts on the hubs are what hold the axles in. unbolt it and pull the axles out

is the part that the hub and wheel bearing ride on does that come 0off or is that attached to the rear end? if it does come off do you think that one from the junkyard would be ok to replace the old one and do you know the proper torque to put on the bearings because I just rebuilt the bearings and hub and then I went from Houston to college station and they chewed themselves up so im thinking that I put too much torque on them I didn't notice it till I got back but I took it apart and the arm that it all rides on got egged so Im guessing that I am going to need new bearings and races. along with that left hand threaded nut do you think one from the junk yard would work or should I just get a new one

How did you figure you had a bad rear end I think mines going as well

pick up the rear end put it on jackkstands and crank it and put it in drive get out and listen if you hear a slight roar that means it is either the ring and pinion or the carrier bearings and then turn it off and try to shake the tires and if they wiggle that means your wheel bearings are going out
