ccv smokes like a chimney

I just got done replacing my injector o-rings, glow plugs, GPR, and spinning my ccv around backwards to run it out behind the cab this weekend. First I will say that this was my first time even pulling the valve covers off of this thing, which was surprisingly easy, as was the o-ring and glow plug swap. My truck still smoked like hell though this morning when I cranked it up. I know the glowplugs and relay are working. I am wondering if I have another issue. Tons of white smoke in the morning.

Also I was surprised at how much smoke that ccv hose is blasting out under the truck. I didnt put a can or anything on it, but was wondering if it is normal for that thing to just shoot smoke out like that.

One other thing I was wondering was if there is anywhere to get the boot for the turbo to the intake. My shitty old orange one has duct tape around it now where the hose clamp had torn it. The updated kit from ford seems a little bit too high. Riff Raff diesels has one for like 50bucks. Is that about as good as its gonna get?

if you just did it after the injector swap its burning off the oil in the cylenders

Thats kinda what I was hoping, but Ive run it out like 60 or 70 miles since i got it back together. Im just worried I wasted my weekend and 200bucks replacing all of that stuff without having the injectors serviced somewhere while I had them out.

Drive it a while and see what happens

go to riffraffdiesel.com, they have the boots and stuff you need for your turbo at a good price, and a lot better quality than stock. Put them on my truck and they fit up great and look good too.:tu:

I have done a lot of injector jobs on 7.3s and they would all smoke like crazy but not for 70 miles maybe 30 at most to burn all that oil off. My truck always smokes a bluish white smoke when its cold and goes away once warm.

Im going to try and post a video of this thing cranking in the morning.
Its like 97t444e said, it smokes blueish white in the morning when I crank it, but clears up when I get warmed up. To me it just seems like a shitload of smoke. This is however the first OBS Ive owned. My Stuperdooty smoked like that when the glowplugs were dead and weak. Truck seems to run great though. Also noticed that after cleaning the tips and replacing the orings I fart out a little black smoke when I get on the throttle. Not that that means anything, but it didnt do that before so maybe its getting more fuel than it did before?

how many miles on the engine? Mine smokes pretty good when its cold and it always has done that but clears up. Even sometimes when im idling under I light at night you can see a faint haze of smoke when the engine is at op temp. As for the black smoke that is normal under a load aka mashing the go pedal. And what made you decide to replace the injector orings?

my truck has about 196k on it. This is part of the reason I decided to replace the orings. It was a completely stock truck when I bought it. I knew it could probly use glowplugs and the gpr replaced, so I figure while I have the valve covers off I would swap the orings. Im glad I did because I was able to knock the crud off of the injector tips and the old orings were hardened and brittle. I though it may have been part of the smoking issue, turns out it probably wasn't.
I ran the truck with the valve covers off and saw that all the injectors were spilling oil as they should, but I did notice that the rear passenger side injectors were pumping less than the others. I think those are #5 and #7? is it normal for less oil to be spilling from these injectors? it may have been on both sides, but I really noticed it on the passengers bank
