buying a 1995?? what do i need to know?

Hi I currently drive a 2008 F-250 (6.4 and hate the 6.4 i've replaced everything), but my soon to be x is taking the truck when we split....im looking at a 1995 F-250 7.3 it has 263k miles on it and he's asking 10k firm....He put a new transmission shift kit and turbo in it back in nov 2012 when he bought it (7 mo or so ago) Nothing has been done with injectors or glo plugs etc but he said everything runs great now and he's never needed to replace any of that....I asked if anyone had a programmer on it and he said a kid a couple owners back had one on it and took it off, but he didn't put one on cuz he didn't want to have to replace another transmission...Is this a good deal for the truck, what do i need to know when buying one...part of post: i have a 1995 f250 I'm looking to either sell or trade. the truck is in excellent condition, it has a 14in lift with brand new 40in toyo mts. dana60 sas, brand new transmission with shift kit.

What do y'all think?? Im a clueless girl....i don't know enough about em to know what to get, but I couldn't image driving anything but a powerstroke now lol and vie heard so much good about the 7.3

Thanks in advance :)

10K is outrageous to pay for that truck. If it has a 14inch lift you can bet that its been abused by some kid. Try to find a grandpa truck that hasnt been beat to death

i would run away from that pickup. the only way i would ever buy it is if i got it for super super cheap. im talking like maybe a grand or 2

Nothing runs and drives like a 7.3L, good choice.

No matter what truck you buy, take it to either a mechanic you trust or a renowned Ford outfit. Its worth the $75-$100 for a comprehensive inspection so you don't get screwed over.

I was looking to buy a 2005 Infiniti sedan a couple of months ago, and I told the owner I was dead set on getting an inspection from the Infiniti stealership. Although the car looked great to me on the surface, it needed thousands and thousands of dollars in repair that the owner had covered up/neglected to mention.

Do it. No matter what. And Carfax.

That is too much though. I paid 8k for my 96 7.3L but it actually was a grandpa truck.

Don't just set yourself on one truck keep looking around and like said above try to find a grandpa truck. Is the tranny in there stock? if so that lift will eat that thing in a hurry.
