Fuel pump plunger/lifter?
 

So I yanked my fuel pump off (no bent wrench either. flex head ratchets FTW!) and I got it out easily enough with a ratchet on the crank. trouble is, it came up without any lifter/shim/whatever that i was warned about. just the round plunger on the bottom.

So uh...is that what i was sposed to look out for? because that thing is proper solid in there. if it is, woohoo!
if not...well...I'm goin fishing once I pull the pan off. . .

Your good that is what you want.

When I pulled mine I just used a lady foot on each side and popped it up. I don't like the post I saw awhile ago that said to break it or whatever.

got the pump in. no major hassle. my new pump seemed to have a "lock" spot in the plunger. pushed it up, it went "click" lightly, and it was secure enough to put in easily.

next question, two sealer washers on the banjo bolt, one on each side of the two line fitting, or 1 on the head side of the bolt?

because uh, mine has the one...not the second.
so if there's sposed to be two, there's no wonder I'm pissing fuel.

should definatly have one on each side of the banjo, sometimes they stick to the pump and you have to pry it off.
new pump should have come with new ones though

new pump didn't come with em, or with a new banjo bolt.
not that I was expecting either.

its less againm but still from somewhere its leaking. gonna try one other thing i may have missed before i say fuck it and order a full list of parts for an efuel setup.

I did my own system on my own. TomS has done a great write up. Not sure if it is here but I am proof a Efuel system can be done for under $500. Also look up tightwad mod. That is kind of the way I did my fuel pressure regulator but I welded my unused ports. I did it almost 1 year ago and have made it through a colder then usual winter with about 3 weeks of single and negative digit weather . Pm me if needed I can go into more detail.

we got about 2 weeks of -30C or colder this year, and it was a warm winter. so anything that doesn't like the cold I probably cannot do.

anyway, once work starts back up here in mid march, I think I'll be selecting 1 of the 3 good writeups on E fuel setups and ordering the parts listed, whether I get mine to quit leaking or not.

we'll see how things go. hopefully I can get through the E fuel conversion when I do it without too much hassle. I'll probably just use a frost plug on the mechanical fuel pump port.
