97 7.3 removal of fuel bowl to replace rubber lines

I have been advised by my local dealer (while I was having 2 recalls taken care of),

that my bottom fuel line off the fuel bowl is leaking and to repair this was a $800 job

(somehow they figure this is a 8+ hr job)...

It requires pulling the fuel Bowl. Has anyone got any tips on removing the fuel bowl on a 97 7.3 powerstroke? I am not a complete idiot with a wrench, just looking for suggestions and possible 'got cha's that should watch for).

Thanks

Zero "'got cha's". Very straight forward. Should take an hour or two.

SIMPLE JOB!!
Holy crap $800.00 WOW!!

DRAIN THE FUEL BOWL FIRST!!

The fuel bowl is healed into place by 2 bolts i think 9/16? Anyways remove the 2 bolts unplug the wiring harness on the passenger side. Disconnect the drain tube from the drain valve and thats only if you want a little more room to work. The fuel hoses are located at the back of the bowl. Loosen the clamps (what ever clamps are easily accessible for you and also loosen the clamp on the return line (drivers side) lift a little to remove the return line from its tube and pull the bowl forward (toward the front of the truck) to remove the fuel lines from there anchoring points and with out removing the fuel high pressure lines lay the fuel bowl over to the side.

DRAIN THE FUEL FIRST!!!!

Know you can get too and replace the 2 fuel lines behind the fuel bowl easily!!

Repeat the procedure to reinstall the fuel bowl and your done.
The 2 fuel lines can be purchased at ford for around US $25.00 with new clamps...

This is what I say to Ford :tttt:
