Wont run right
Hi i have a 1997 ford f-250 powerstroke 7.3L diesel this is my first diesel truck. the truck quit i found out the pre-heater for the fuel quit and the related fuse burned out so after i changed some parts like the pre-heater, fuse, fuel filter, batteries, fuel pump on engine all new parts. Now the truck starts only after it sits awhile and only when i hold the throttle at 1000 rpm and if i let go of the throttle it will quit and be a pain to start again unless it sits for awhile and only when i hold the throttle. I did do a CanOBD2 tool test on the truck and it came back (0) no problems. I have went over the parts i replaced several times to make sure i did them right (double checking) no leaks that i can see.
need some help.. thank you |
Sounds like the IPR is plugged or you have an ICP issue...
First thing I would do is remove the IPR and clean it. IF that doesnt help you need to get a scanner on it and watch ICP pressures and duty cycles while cranking. https://www.dieselbombers.com/99-03-...l-rebuild.html |
