pickup won't stay running. Shuts itself off.

My pickup won't stay running, its getting fuel but its like its not getting enough to where it shuts itself off. Could it be an injector not firing? And how many orings are on an injector? I'm thinking of replacing all my orings on all my injectors. Any ideas where to look for why my pickup wont stay runnning?

If one injector wasn't firing, the truck would still run, just on 7 cylinders. Your truck will run on one bank if it had to... Sounds like your issue is elsewhere... 6 orings on each injector...Well technically 5 with a copper ring...

Should I start with my fuel lines or fuel pump then? Could the lines have air in them. I just change the fuel filter and its still doing the same thing.

If you can get the truck to idle, you can check fuel pressure on the side of the fuel bowl. If you have fuel pressure, I wouldn't worry about it being fuel related. A lack of fuel pressure will not cause the truck to shut down. The computer doesn't know what fuel pressure you are running because the system is mechanical. Sounds like it might be oil related...

Where should I start with the oil? Maybe changing it and the filter and see if that makes a difference and then go from there?

You need to get a diagnostics tool and start watching ICP and DC%...

Well I was looking at my pickup and decided to take a look at my injection control pressure sensor and its cracked. So now I got to buy that part for my pickup. Hoping it have it soon so I can run a scanner on it and see if that solves the problem or if there is more to come.

That could be exactly your problem... That controls the high oil pressure getting to your injectors...

I doubt that is your problem, as the truck will simply defer to stored maps. However I believe you are on the right track as far as ICP related.

There is only a few things that will keep a psd from running, ICP is one of the biggest. power to the PCM and any IDM issues is the others.

Does it run rough and then die? or is it running fine and just die? Cam sensors fail a few different ways on these, and is a common failure.
