Time for a decision
 

ok guys i have owned a 2003 7.3l for 10 years now, and it has not given me even the slightest problem. My question to yall is, is it worth moving up to the 6.7l diesel? i know that EPA restrictions are just going to get tighter as the world because more green. im not looking at making this new truck pour smoke with deletes and programmers cause lets face it thats what is making us look bad hahaha. but if yall could tell me what your experience with these trucks are it would help me make a decision on "upgrading" or staying where im at :humm:

I went from my 97 with tons of mods (400 HP on the dyno) to my 2012 and could not be happier. Only thing I have done is an edge insight, air bags. Rear inner fender wells (can’t believe they were not stock items)
Future plans to leave the motor stock:)
Diesel site fuel filters setup (sitting on the bench I am working on a stone gauged set-up since it mounts on the outside of the frame)
Airlift wireless compressor for the bags. (Also in the bench just need the time to install)
It tow better than my old one the rest will stay stock .my 6.7 has all the power I need for towing. :)

I haven't heard of anyone being disappointed in leaving whatever they were in (7.3, 6.0, 6.4) and getting into a 6.7. Even keeping it stock. There have been a few isolated incidents of turbos crapping out, with no rhyme or reason, but it seems more on the cab and chassis trucks (different turbo), but other than that... for a new platform they seem to be doing very well. Mileage is up and stock power is great.

I don't own one personally but my dad has a 2013 Platinum edition with the 6.7l option and he seems to love it. I have yet to drive it but I haven't heard any complaints of them.

The new truck is impressive,seems to have been out long enough, maybe it is time to replace my 06, read several forums and very few complaints. Maybe Ford learned a lesson before they lost any more customers.

keep the old truck, they run great forever and dont cost you much to upkeep. if you want a new one get it but keep the old one too, it will haul the stuff you dont want ot put in the new one. trade ins are not important in the financing reallyand worth more to you as a keeper

That is a thought, but don't need two. Actually it is my wife pushing me to get a new truck, wonder what she wants.

werent all of the old powerstrokes built and designed by other companies and this is the first ford designed and ford built powerstroke? I havent had any problems with my 6.7 except a bit of death wobble, but that was from doing doughnuts in a farm field (dont ask)
my buddy who is a diesel tech for a ford dealer nearby told me it was the ball joints and i'll be damned he was right.... he didnt even look at it. soo im assuming to watch for bad ball joints
