gray smoke out of exhaust???

i have a 08 6.4, i had a AFE TURBO BACK 4" EXHAUST, wich eliminated the dpf, when this was done, the muffler shop called and said my truck was blowing gray smoke out the tailpipe, when i got there we found out that they had not shut off the DPF regen in the programmer, after doing so, the gray smoke stopped, but now everytime i start te truck it blows gray smoke until it gets warmed up, and then it stops. the muffler shop said its because of the excess diesel used in the regen process and it will stop once the exhaust burns it all out, can this be true, any ideas??? can it be something else?

Call the company that you bought the programmer from, they will know the answer:tu:

update???

I have had an 09 f350 for about a month now. Its completely stock and this morning it started spitting white or gray smoke until about 40mph. My regen has been cycling about once every 2 weeks or so, usually while on the interstate. Is there any update to this thread??? Thanks:c:
