I just got back from test driving a new F-350 King Ranch and I must say, I am still drooling. That truck really changed my mind on them. When i get back from Iraq I know there will be a new 6.4L King Ranch in my driveway. If only prices werent so high there would be one in the driveway right now. :madd:

I don't know of any other factory pickup that can match that at this point. 18k is a LOT of weight. Did he really say 12% grade? :pc:

I tend to disagree, all the big 3 trucks are way underrated, I know an 06 dodge that belongs to a site member with 110k if I'm not mistaken and I know for a fact it has grossed well of 40k for at least half that. I am only at 40k on the millage side but the only time my "underrated" truck moves is to pull loads never under 30k. It was no doubt a good test, but I think they could stretch its legs more and really see what its got. Just my .02

thanks cashwheel
heres some pics from the other day. to back up what cashwheel said. truck is 8960lbs full of fuel and gear. trailer is 9k empty. hay is at least 1k per bale(23 bales) now I know this is way beyond what dodge rates the truck for. The only problems I have had with the truck have been. 1 clutch due the duel mass flywheel cracking, 1 a/c compressor and lines, all rear driveline u-joints, u-joints in the cardon joint on the front drivline, 1 upper idler pulley, and 1 IPM(integrated power module) under warranty for not getting power to the right brake light in the trailer plug.

that is impressive emp. I to think all the trucks are underated. I guess they might do that so some guy doesnt go nuts with trying to pull something and blow his truck up and try to get it replaced for free. Who knows?

Ford will not put a cummins in there light duty pickups, it just wont happen. That being said, fords contract with international will come to an end late 09 or something like that, and in 2010 ford will put there in house diesel in it.
