When do you guys think I should do my oil change & what oil should I use ??? I'm thinking of every 5,000 miles & using conventional oil like ROTELA 15-40.:ok1:

Really depends on what your using the truck for. If you do alot of towing I would change it at 5K.

HI LUKE, I use my truck as a car with a bed, I don't tow, pull, or race !!! I don't consider hooking a 4.5X8 trailer with a quad on it as pulling !!!

i change my 08's oil every 3000 mile's but im always towing heavy loads i thaught the owners manual said 3 to 7000 miles. 3000 miles if your towing alot and seven if your just hiway and taking it easy i read mine once but i cant remember for shure what it said all i know is at 3000 miles my oil is dark black i realise the its caused from the heavy hauling i do

I would go 10K or close to it ford isn't just guessing on how long the oil will last. The best thing is to do a Oil Analysis Gm saids 10K and I've had good test at 12K and a not so good one at 15K with the old Delo 400. Just because you oil is black don't mean a thing.

I was changing the oil on my 1999 F250 7.3 PSD every 3 to 4 thousand miles, BUT I guess these new engines burn the fuel better, and don't leave the oil as dirty ??? I'm going to change it between 5,000 to 6,000 miles, since it's not going to hurt nothing:ok1:

Oil is cheap compared to the alternatives :)

Im changing mine every 3k, and both fuel filters at every 7500.

Hehe.. well, Im not completely sold on Ford's/International's claims of 10k oil changes on normal driving and 5000-7500 on heavier usage averages.

I can get 4 gals of Rotella-T and a new filter for less than $70.00. So to me, that $70.00 every 3000 miles is nothing compared to the price of fixing the damage from rolling a bearing on the rods, mains, or turbo's..... just my 0.02 cents worth :)

I see where you coming from, BUT I'm not going to be to hard on the pedal, as for the fuel filter, I'll wait till I have 10,000 miles !!
