oil coming through CAC

I just finished some work...new oem oil cooler, updated STC fitting, egr delete with new up pipe that eliminates port for egr cooler, cleaned turbo vanes, sinister coolant filter, and put in blue spring upgrade. All went fairly smooth thanks to forum and about a month of research. I do have just a couple questions...

I'm have some oil in my CAC tube and in my inpptake. I was thinking it was a seal leaking on the intake side of the turbo. That correct?

Also, it seems like my turbo whistles a little louder. Thought I didn't have a clamp tight enough, but I am building boost. (Roughly 20psi @ 2000-2500rpm not pulling anything just getting on it from stop) seems like it is lagging a bit as well. Could just be me. I read a post about feeling around y pipe. I will do this tomorrow on cold start up, just didnt know if cleaning vanes would cause extra whistle. Thanks for info in advance.

the egr delete will increase the wistle. the oil in the cac pipes is normal in our engines, it's not a turbo seal, it is the crankcase vent tube that is routed directly into the intake before the turbo that pulls a vaccum on the engine and helps to keep from blowing the oil seals at the crank. Basically everything you are describing is normal for your setup.

So oil coming through my horn in to my intake is ok/normal? Great news if I am understanding that correctly. :jump:

Yup, oil gets sucked in before turbo and will go all the way through the system and into the intake and into the combustion chambers. It's not alot that gets sucked through, it's basically oil vapor but over time it puddles up, alot of times you you will see it coming through the silicone boots on the CAC piping

Bad ass...thank you sir!

Usually boost is a touch higher on stock trucks. 22-24 it seems for the 05+ trucks, I know some of the earlier trucks got up near 30 when towing a load, but I've personally never broke more than 22ish on my stock 06.

As long as the truck seems to run good, I wouldn't worry about it thought.

I just finished doing all the finished doing all the things that you did. With the addition of An AFE filter and 4" turbo back MBRP with Cat delete and muffler. Holy Cow! Mine sounds like a friggin' A-10 Thunderbolt taking off when the turbo spools up!
I thought that I might have a leak somewhere to. But after checking everything twice I can't find one. So I feel confident it is fairly normal.:w2:

Evey once in a while when I take off from a stop light/sign there is a noise that sounds like a semi or a bus taking off. The best i could descibe it sounds like a giant fan. The loudness fluctuated with the amount of throttle I am giving it. Then it just slowly goes away. Doesnt matter whether i have it tuned or stock. Not pulling anything either. My uneducated guess would be transmission. It also happened after u let the truck idle for about 5-10minutes. Not a new problem, just wanting to figure it out.

Just a guess but it is probably your fan. When the fan clutch engages it does sound like a bus. Mdub would know better though.

I had read a post of mdubs that said you would know it when your fan kicks on cause its so loud. So i was hoping thats it. just seemed wierd that it only happens once in a while, and I didn't know it would fluctuate with acceleration.
