history of my truck and what exhaust to buy

ok so i bought my 2005 f250 6.0 with 145000 bout 7-8mths ago and im having my friend put my egr delete on as im writing this. My question is he said he keeps finding diffrent bolts missing and some1 tried cutting up the intake gasket to make it fit better for some reason, so is there a way to figure out who worked on and owned my truck or am i just going blind and need to fix the stuff some other idiots messed up. i went ahead and put new intake gaskets on new glow plugs and harnesses and the egr delete. my friend also said the oil cooler is starting to leak alittle bit is this something to be concerned about and have him rebuild it right now or can it wait. And im wanting to buy an easy to install straight pipe exhaust on my truck any1 got any recomendations oh and im not looking to spend a ton of money?

Ask the person you bought it from. I doubt it was dealer work if its that hacked up.

What do you really hope to gain by finding out who the previous owner was? Seriously? What would YOU say if you hacked your way through a truck, sold it and the next guy comes to you asking what the hell you were thinking? I'd tell you to pack sand and slam the door in your face.

As I read on another site, "this ain't a cheap bastards game..." If the oil cooler looks like it's having issuses, drop the $$$ on a new one while the manifold is off.

I haven't heard of too many exhausts that score low in the fit/finish class. Get a 4" turbo back (it will have a 3.5" out of the turbo, then neck up to 4"), if you aren't straddled with smog checks, straight pipe it.

After you finish the EGR delete, you're going to need an SCT tuner to turn off the CEL. See how it starts to add up now? The good news is that once the exhaust and SCT are done, you're almost done. You would be a wise man to buy some sort of gauges. EGTs, EOT/ECT are mandatory in my book to monitor. After that, fuel psi. Think of it as protecting your investment.

ok let me rephrase this i dont really care who owned it i was just more interested in how many people owned it and where it lived most of its life. And i was just wanted to know if it was a real shop that did this shitty work so i could let people in the area know not to use them. As for the sct tuner i actually already have that i bought it from innovative diesel and had eric do some tunes. Im wanting to do the exhaust and gauges as my next buys. I live in ohio so there really isnt any smog stuff i have to worry about if there was there would be alot of us pissed off hillbillies lol.

o yeah and i also forgot to ask where can i get them gauges u was talkn bout and do they have the pillar pods.

My pods are from GlowShift but all of my gauges are ISSPRO. As far as where to find them, XDP, Summit, type it in on google.

I just put my exhaust on Friday. I love it and the price. I got it from alligatorperformance.com It is a diamond eye kit. 4" downpipe, 5" straight pipe. Does not include a tip so you'll have to buy it seperately. I bought a diamond eye 6" black chrome looking tip also for mine. The kit was 319 and the tip was 109. Out the door with quick shipping for 430.00. It was the cheapest one I could find. Shipping was free.

4" tb exhausts can be had for ~$265, and 5" for ~$295 if you look hard enough, those are just for aluminized steel, no tip.

My system cost someone over $1200 at one point, I paid less than 1/2 of that and it had never been used.

As for gauges, check with some of the site sponsors. They'll hook you up. I make it a point to stay away from anything glowshift, but that's me. I have dipricol Optix gauges and Isspro EV2's now.

You can also do a pod like an EDGE CTS insight, which is quite popular now.

Agreed...but only to the extent of gauges, I haven't had any issues with the pod yet but I will NEVER run their gauges

Fair enough!

I didn't get a pillar pod because they are generic and need some heat work to mold the plastic to your pillar. This was for a single pillar pod, I have no idea about the multiples because they require that you remove the grab bar. I'm fat and old, I need that grab bar with my lift and 35s!

I bought my Auto Meter Sport Comp gauges from Summit (I'm an hour from the Sparks retail store) for the fuel psi, I cut a hole below the dash cluster, I DO NOT recommend that as the gauge was deeper than I thought it was, it got ugly. The EGT is a big 2 5/8" (back to the old guy thing again) that is mucho easyo to see. I mounted that right on top of the dash with a gauge cup.

Why Auto Meter Sport Comp? I've been running them in my 1967 Mustang since 1998.
