Sale price?

Some of you may or may not have seen my thread about doing a Cummins swap into my F-250. My question for you guys is how much can I expect to get for my 6.0? It will have new gaskets, studs, EGR and oil cooler replacements, fully degreased, I might even do the fix-em...I mean FICM upgrade. Lol.

Mileage???? Say 2-4k mileage makes the difference.

Shortstack787 04-27-2012 09:19 AM

56k even right now, might be a little more once the swap is done. $4k-ish? That's it? Thought that that was what they were going for completely stock. I was hoping somewhere in the $6k range $7k on a good day with all new gaskets, ARPs, new EGR and oil coolers from BPD, all the junk cleaned off and possibly a new FICM since the current one is starting to show it's age with rough starts. If I can't get even 1/2 of the cost to bullet proof it back in the sale, then there's no sense in me saving someone the effort.

I'd say $4500 tops.

I see them for that price on ebay all the time for stockers, but it doesn't mean they sell. Realistcally more like $3000-$3500.

No one is going to pay for the labor, if you have the bulletproof air cooler oil cooler that might bring it up a little but the headstuds and gaskets would be worth 500 or so, its only $1000 for all the parts and if motor is going to be out anyways someone could buy all the stuff and put it together for free on there own. Problem is you should have sold it while it was still in truck so people knew that engine came out of that truck with the miles on it and they could see it run, then it would be worth on a good day 5k, if its sitting on a garage floor I wouldn't spend over 4k, Iv'e bought these for $500 complete just needing new head gaskets so the there is a big price difference depending on how bad someone needs it.

if your going to spend the money to build the 6.0l why wouldf you then turn around and put a cummins in the truck?
