Coolant filter kit

Hey guys, thinking of adding coolant filter kit? which is best one to use and cost??

Also do you need to bleed air out of system after install and what is best way to do that?

Thanks

I bought the Diesel Site Coolant filter Kit

Installation was easy and straight forward

Yes i cut mine open after one year

Attachment 38482

Then i changed the filter again flushed the system with distilled water and used CAT 1 antifreeze:tu:

You went a year on the first one? Don't they say like 1000 miles for the first change? You can tell when they need changing just by feeling the aluminum filter head. If it's really hot, coolant is flowing through it, if it's just warm from heat under the hood and not really hot, nothing is flowing and it needs changing. I use the dieselsite setup too. They're the same thing, just pick which colors you like best.

i went one year

if you grab a flash light and take the cap of the coolant over flow bottle you can see the coolant go back to the bottle

and the alum filter housing was hot...so i know there is flow

Based on the pics these filters work:tu:

thanks

They work very well guys!

I'm amazed you made it a year on that filter, nice! Must have been pretty clean inside. Had you done a flush or anything previous?

it must have been flushed prior to me owning the truck

I recently installed the oil by pass filter using Amsoil Filter with nu sports kit from California:tu:
