Ok so i bought a sct 3015 from innovative diesel with custom tunes for my 05 f250. I can make it smoke a decent amount when taking off but y can i smoke out the neighborhood lol like my buddy can do with his dodge trust me im not sayn i want a dodge im just sayn i would like my truck to smoke like his. I dont have any other mods done i do have a egr delete but havnt put it on yet would that make it smoke more?

Smoke = wasted fuel...you don't want that

Smoknjay 04-04-2012 09:28 PM

yeah i know its a waste but i still like it. i spend plenty of money on diesel so i may aswell have some fun with it lol. but is there a reason his smokes so much and mine barely smokes unless my turbo is completely wound down and then i give it bout half the peddle if i do anymore than that i burn my tires off, i will say i recomend the sct tuner that thing gave me some unbelievable amounts of power.

the only reason a Dodge smokes is because they can't burn the fuel as efficiently as a 6.0, watch the fastest diesels,Audi Racing, and you won't see plumes of smoke. smoke is bad tuning.

Cummins' smoke more because there are more people like the OP who ask these dumb questions who own dodges instead of fords. Now the real answer should have been cummins smoke more because the jack heads that own them are not tuning them correctly or at all, for that matter. Instead of building for power they just want smoke.....:td:

I'm really getting sick of the people who want to roll coal for the hell of it. It's people like you that are killing the sport for the rest of us, the EPA is already cracking down hard enough. Keep that for the drags and sled pulls. If I were you I would put money where it counts; turbo, injectors etc. That way, while he's sitting there smoking and not going anywhere you will be halfway down the 1/4 mile.

Oh, one more thing, the 6.0L has a VGT (variable geometry turbine), so if you're pumping high amounts of soot through it, it'll start sticking and not work.

If you want your diesel truck to smoke, it's easy & cheap, just cover your air-filter with a plastic bag:w2:

You: My truck doesn't smoke very much, but it will lite the tires up quick and takes off quick, and cleans up what smoke it does have quick

Translation: Wow my tuning is spot on!

Seriously though, the Dodge trucks until recently didn't have the option of custom tuning like we do. Clean power is where it's at these days. Is it fun to roll smoke? Some guys think so, if you do, just please do it responsibly. There is no need to smoke out an intersection. It just puts a "black eye" on the sport from the rest of the world, and it's just attention we don't want.

If you've got black smoke pouring out, there is something wrong.

Wire in a cut out switch to the VGT on the turbo. Smokes like nothing else....bet it smokes out the Dodge.

Sorry I've heard this one before... But put a Walmart bag over your air filter, and light a tire on fire in the bed!!!:jump:
