Confused about gauges!!

Getting some gauges pyro, fuel pressure, boost, not keen on pillar mounts and was thinking scan gauge2 or edge, but wondering how this works if I have to plug either of them into the ob port and I am getting an sct that has to be plugged into same port???? I know probably silly question but, wabt it simple and monitor some things, what simple and best bang for the buck thanks

The SCT you literally only plug in to load the tune to the truck, then it's disconnected. Then you could re-connect your scangauge or whatever you're using.

There are several other mounting options for gauges too, not just a-pillar. There are above the mirror mounts, single pod steering column mounts, a bezel thing that pops around the cluster that houses two gauges, a small gauge that mounts down on the drivers side glove box (little cubby) on the 05+ trucks, the 03/04 guys can do the F650 dash too...

scangauge 2 is probably the cheapest and best bang for the buck, but it doesn't have the "nice look" of the other stuff like the Edge CTS.

Ok thought the sct stayrd plugged in u,can monitor egt with it I think? Would b wicked if sct did fuel pressure and boost,

Pretty much any of them can read boost through the OBD port. As for pyro or fuel pressure, you will need the ad-ons for that. A handheld SCT isn't really a "monitor" like what you're looking for, but you could datalog with it for troubleshooting etc... The SCT livewire is the one that is also a monitor.

The hot setup these days seems to be the SCT X-cal3 and the Edge CTS for monitor. Any of the monitors you get you're going to need to get the EGT probe and the fuel pressure sensor extra. The monitor themselves can only read whatever your PCM can currently read, through the OBD port. Our PCM doesn't monitor fuel pressure or EGT's so that's why we have to get the extras.

Auto Meter EGT on top of dash towards the right, Auto Meter fuel PSI below gauge cluster on left, ScanGauge II under dash on the right, far enough over to see from the seat. I used a SIRIUS mount that I don't use anymore for the ScanGauge, but you could easily fab something up.

There is a small plug (6~8 wires) above the OBD port under the dash that had a yellow (?) wire for the gauge lights. To check if its the right one, look for voltage increase/drop on a multi-meter as you move the dimmer control. To power the gauges I used a plug in for the fuse panel with a pigtail. Allows for use of that fuse and your gauge power.

Captainharley have you checked out the 6.0 cockpit page? We had a few people post the interiors of their trucks with different gauges/pods etc... might give you some ideas too.:c:
