I think Ford figures just over an hour labor bill time to change the belt. Service tech said a lot had to be removed to replace the belt.
I had mine done while the truck was in getting tranny serviced, etc. |
Remove aft clip on shroud (no cutting needed), ratcheting torque wrench set high to avoid damaging it, feel yer way in, push, unload, etc. Figured out when putting alt on after EGR delete.
|
Just as an FYI, I found the P/N for the belt for the trucks with single alt's.
3C3Z-8620-DB And Tousley has it for $45.:c: |
it is a pain forsure, i had mine off... it was NOT fun
|
I got the belt already, thank M I will be needing another one in about 8 years:w2: I am going to change it today so I will let you know the outcome.:c:

I deal with Apple Ford in columbia Md. I don't think I ever had to order anything, they have had every part in stock, they also have a 10 bay shop just for trucks, they service all the Fire equipment for the county too. the parts dept. being open till 7pm is nice too, even open till 6pm on Sat.

To make ot easier remove the belt cover on the fan shroud. Take small screw driver and its 5 clips. It's also easier to remove the belt by just unbolting the alternator and letting the belt tension off. Then just bolt it back up and pull it up by hand. Then put the belt cover back on.
