Coolant filter

I was looking at the coolant filter kit from Sinister Diesel but I believe it gets installed right where my Amsoil oil bypass system is located, right by the battery on passenger side. There may be enough room for both but I'm not sure. Anyone running both systems?

Yes there was a member on here running both. He relocated his amsoil bypass setup to just behind the grill area, in front of the condenser. You are correct though, there are a lot of things that are supposed to mount there.

yep got coolant filter under hood and oil bypass filter behind grill woeks great. i know of a guy that put both of them under the hood next to each other but it was a nightmare to change filter

I just replaced the filter element in my Sinister coolant system today. I installed the system at 156,354 miles and today the truck has 159,720 miles and it was on for two months.

I wanted to see what was filtered out so I chiseled it open and figured I would post some pictures. Well there was such minimal amount of stuff that when I drained the coolant out through a coffee filter it wouldn't show up in the pictures. When I cut the filter housing open it was almost 100% clean inside. My hope is that since I had a coolant system flush done at 99,620 all of the crap has been flushed out already. I will see what it looks like when I change it again at the end of May.

I wouldn't think you would have to change the filter every 2 months, not that over maintaining is gonna hurt anything. :c:
