Man it took me like 12 hours to do the two EGR deletes I did, but I drink a lot of beer in between most steps. It's not a difficult job, but it is time consuming and can be frustrating for a first timer. You will definitely want an extra set of hands around to help, especially with the new hardware for the up-pipe.

What kind of shape are your batteries in? Might be a good idea to have them load tested. Also, do the FICM test, it's simple and quick to do, and doesn't cost a thing to check it out.

I would also delete the EGR cooler/valve as well.

I think it would be wise to check fuel pressure as well, especially after hearing about all of the injector issues you're having.

The FRAM filters are fine for the 6.0, they're exactly the same as Ford's filters (motorcraft). And yes, the Motorcraft filters at advanced/wal-mart are the same at the dealer. When's the last time the fuel filters have been changed? A good synthetic oil and some rev-x will probably do wonders for the way this truck runs too. Also it would be a good idea to hook a good scanner up to it and see if there are any codes at all. Soft codes wont throw the check engine light. :c:

Fuel filters got changed about a month ago, dread doing that. I just changed the oil on the truck and used Rottela T, weve been using oild outta our 50 gallon drum, were gonna see if the oil makes any diffence. I got Napa gold filter for the truck that was pricey but came with a new cap, that one of my wrenches acctuly fits on again, lol. I load tested the batteries and the both load tested good, one batt has different amps than the other, from what I understand that can cause issues? I dont have a single clue how the fuel system works on a ford, just know it runs off oil pressure. Something I like to understand...

Everytime I remove my tubro I go to ford and spend the 11 dollars and get the tubro mounting kit - has new bolts and O-rings for oil tube and the gasket for the top of the tubro

Also I havnt put a scanner on it since the new Injectors, What I then was Low Voltage to Number 2 and 3. Something along those lines, and no other codes. I went and checked the parameters and everthing elese look good.

I thought you weren't supposed to use the aftermarket oil filters with new caps?

Dunno, dont see why not, ford stripped the nut on our cap, so Kinda nice to have one that I can use a wrench to get off...

bobfbigman 02-04-2012 04:16 PM

You cannot use the filter that has the cap attached, they do not fully close off the drain valve and bleed presure off of the oil system, can cause alot of bad issues, Napa does not sell a filter that fits these trucks, believe it or not you are better off going to wALMART FOR THE FILTER...

Mdub707 02-04-2012 08:29 PM

Get rid of that oil filter with the cap and go back to the Motorcraft filters and the factory cap man. The one's with their own caps have been known to starve these motors of oil.

RanchhandTCR 02-05-2012 12:50 AM

I kept the factory cap, Its torqued to 20 NM. It sounds a lil smother with the Oil filter I have in it, if it ends up starving it Ill make the 30 mile trip to W mart and get the motorcraft oil filter. Can belive napa doesnt sell The motorcraft filters and if it starves the truck outta oil Ill get my money back out of the filter. Man it was nice having a cap that I could get a wrench and socket on... After this run Ill fore sure get a motor craft...
