2007 Powerstroke 6.0 No Start

New member with first time post. Working on a 2007 F350 with 6.0 that came in with a no start condition. Followed Ford's TSB 08-18-6, had a P2290, found IPR valve not working and only building 300psi in the ICP. Great. Replace IPR valve and still no start. Using a Ford IDS, monitored all the vital areas. ICP is now what the demanded pressure is, on crank, around 1400 psi. Will go over 2000 psi with higher command. I have RPM signal, cam and crank sync, FICM sync, injector pulse width over 2.0 ms, base fuel pressure is over 50psi. I can run KOEO Self test, KOEO injector test, both with no faults except for a #8 glow plug code. On occasion, it will start and seem to run great and after 30 to 60 seconds, will start running rough and then dies. Tries to restart but won't. Found out another shop had swapped the FICM. No VIN mismatch but reprogrammed it anyway. Felt suspicious of the FICM and installed a factory reman unit. You guessed it, started, ran for a minute, then fell off and died. Same situation. I am thinking that I got a set of failing injectors but can't understand why it will start and runs so good and then dies and won't restart. The injectors that I have seen fail are usually a couple at the most. Not a whole set. Also had dropped the exhaust pipe to see if restricted and checked for bubbles coming back from the heads to the top fuel filter housing. None noticed. One strange thing that I noticed while running the bubble test, I had the fuel pump disabled and the vehicle tried to run. This tells me that a fuel source was getting in, possible leaking injectors? Anyway, planning on seeing what the amp draw is for the injectors tomorrow. Don't have an amp clamp small enough to be accurate, so I am going to make some jumpers and use my fluke. Until then, if you see something I'm missing or have seen something like this before, I appreciate the info. Thanks.:argh:

What is the fuel presure when it is running? might not be a presure problem but maybe a volune problem, prerure might be going down as demand goes up

ICP actual and ICP desired are going to 1400 during cranking? What is IPR duty cycle at this time?

Thanks for asking. The pressure stays consistant at a little over 50psi while its running or not. Haven't ran a volume test though. Kinda figured with that kind of pressure it would have enough volume at a no load cold start.

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

The ICP desired was at 1400psi and IPR was at 84%. As soon as I crank on it, my actual hits a little over 2000psi and the IPR starts backing the demand down and the pressure levels out at the 1400psi range. Pretty much stays with the desired. Don't remember actual desired IPR at the 1400psi but was thinking it was in the upper 37% range. So I believe my High Pressure pump has the ability and the integrity of the system is good. Otherwise, don't believe I could hit those high numbers or I would see max commanded IPR numbers. Thanks for the question.

Your ICP numbers sound right, but IPR shouldn't be up near 85%. Your IPR might be sticking. You could try cleaning it out.

I find it very hard to believe all 8 injectors would magically give up the ghost like this.

Are you getting any smoke out of the exhaust during cranking?

Also I have actually started my truck before with the fuel pump completely off. It can happen, and there were no leaks. It wont run anywhere... has enough suction to pull fuel through apparently, but you wouldn't be able to drive it anywhere, it wouldn't move more than 1 or 2mph.

A bad GPCM can cause a no-start. Also, a #8 glow plug code can often times actually indicate a GPCM failure.
