auto setting on lockouts not working

So today I used my 4x4 for the second time, I noticed that my auto setting on lockouts do not work, they didn't work the first time I just figured it was cause I was stuck in mud and didn't move the tires enough but if I put the lock outs in the "Lock" postion they worked both times, I'm sure these run off vacum lines like all the rest, so just curious if any ithers had this problem and what the cause was or might be, thanks in advance for your help!!!!!

Vacuum leak brother. Very common. I bet if you have your A/C on, and you turn it to auto, it will go to defrost only too right?

:c:

Not sure, I never use a/c but thanks man I'll have ta check into it!

Okay so I was able to do a vacum test on my lockouts and here's the symptoms; driver side will build and hold pressure but not lock/unlock, passenger side will not build/hold pressure, and the hoses going to lockouts are good, I pulled them and visualy inspected them, so does this mean my driver side lock out is bad and my passenger side has bad seals or what?

Kind of sounds that way man. These hubs need to be exercised once in a while. My original set were junk by 50k miles, I couldn't turn them by hand anymore. My new one's every few weeks I make sure to give them a turn.

Okay, so is it best to go OEM on em or will warn and a good upper brand work? All ever used are warn? And are these hard to replace or just as easy as manual lock outs?

bobfbigman 01-19-2012 03:38 PM

Pretty easy to replace, big snap ring if I remember right. Does Warn have auto hubs? I think they are all manual aren't they.

I'm not sure, OEM are 317 new at dealer :scare2: I know areillys can't get auto lock outs, they said they can get only manual.

WARN are manual only. Used them on my rangers, they were really nice.

Ya they are really nice, this is the first set of auto lock outs I've owned so I'm not exactly fimiliar with em, I've also put warns in my trucks, so are there any companys out there that make em or do I have to go to dealer??
