Honestly, I have no idea if Ford pulled it or not. I saw some at NAPA a few weeks ago when I had to get batteries but it could be old stock.

Oh wait! MERCON® LV Automatic Transmission Fluid This says not to use LV in place of SP except TorqShift, and it's a MOTORCRAFT WEBSITE! I give up!
On the upside, OReilly's has it for $4.79/qt

Hey guys,Thanks for all the info you all are providing me.Had my trans serviced with lv.calls for sp and now trans is shot.Haggling with firestone that the additive that was put in the trans for flushing purposes did not get flushed out.Two weeks after service checking the fluid I had air bubbles on the dipstick. The even better thing is the dealer sold it to me and told me it replaces sp. Who knows any more. What happened to good ol Type F and Dexron? Any help

Well you can run LV in place of SP:

MERCON® LV Automatic Transmission Fluid

"Do not use in applications where MERCON® V, MERCON® SP (exceptTorqShift®), Continuously Variable Chain Type Transmission Fluid, Motorcraft® Premium Automatic Transmission Fluid, FNR5 Automatic Transmission Fluid or Type F Automatic Transmission Fluid is recommended, or in transfer cases"

So it sounds like the additive didn't help, also do they heave a heated flush machine? The 5R110 have what is basically an 165*F thermostats in them so you can't totally flush it out w/o a heated machine. IIRC most tech just recommend dropping the pan on these trans, not a full flush.
