Replacing head gasket on 6.0

I am in the process of changing the head gaskets in my 2004 f350 6.0.
im pulling the motor tomorrow morning.

i have not purchased any parts yet because i want to get the heads inspected first. (truck was given to me with a blown head gasket(blowing white smoke))

what parts should i order just to get this thing together and going. i dont tow anything too heavy, but will be pulling a skid loader from time to time.

ive already planned on gettin egr delete, 4'' straight pipe, coolant filter, guages and tuner.

but im not made of money so i wanna put this thing back together as cheap as possible. and i dont really know exactly what to replace while im doing it.

i figured yall would be the ones to ask so any help would be appreciated.

Ford Gaskit, Studs, EGR/Cooler Delete and Tuner.

Probably going to need new stand pipes, the stock ones are 2 piece and have a reputation for the bottom half getting stuck and requiring the use of pliers to remove which forces you to get a new one anyway. Don't buy the shit Black Onyx gaskets, get Ford factory replacements. Lastly, as far as tuners go, SCT or bust.

Why are you pulling the motor? Just curious...

I'm doing a cab off job on mine, here's a list of everything I'm replacing...

OEM headgaskets
using exhaust manifold gaskets
kit for dummy plugs/stand pipes
updated STC fitting (05+)
oil cooler rebuild kit
updated HPOP screen
updated IPR screen/o-ring kit
updated turbo drain lines
updated turbo feed line

I already have gauges, tuner, EGR delete, exhaust, coolant filter.

Are you keeping the truck, or just reselling it? There is no such thing as a cheap headgasket job on a 6.0.... or any diesel for that matter...

Don't forget to add in machine shop costs for the heads, they need to be magnafluxed, decked, pressure checked, and it's a good idea to do valve seals and reseat the valves.

looks like everthing else is covered. except the fuel filters. i would add that to the list.

Yes and new coolant, some extra trans fluid etc...

Hell if you're going to expand your list to what Mdub posted just go ahead and change out the oil too

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

You will likely be looking at a bill that is at least $2k

I think I'm still under $1k with all NEW parts and that includes the machine shop costs for my heads... I'm doing this on a budget! Ebay and forums are your friends! When I had to order OEM Ford, I went through Tousley, they're dirt cheap.

if u get the head gaskets from ford u need to know the dowel pin size since they are two different ones... 18 and 21 mm.. the kit also includes the head studs and also comes with new stand pipes. when i do the head gaskets i just do them with the engine in and the cab on.. im 6'7 so i have a lil reach... but a curious question.. u said the truck is blowig white smoke.. did u pull off the egr valve and see if it is wet?? could a bad egr cooler..
