have a 05 f250 6.0l in my shop that came in for egr cooler leaking into exhaust,and customer wanted to change oil cooler wile apart.installed new egr cooler,egr valve,cooler strainer missing some mesh changed ipc screen wile all apart.started unit and has lots of black smoke raw fuel no fault codes has slight miss scan tool not showing any thing. we have done quit a few but have not came across this problem??? any info would be greatly app. thank you 72fj.....:humm:

Have you done a cylinder contribution tests? Injector buzz tests? How about just a relative compression test? It's possible you've got an injector with a cracked nozzle. Are you getting any fuel in the oil? This black smoke is at idle?

did cyl contro test/buzz test no codes/manualy unplugged each injector wire injector no#2 weak but the truck only had coolant vapor when truck came in,egr valve and cooler and oil cooler r&r pretty basic stuff just time consuming/as to smoke at tail pipe white/grey smoke
at idle and high rpm,lots!!!!! im getting frustrated,injectors getting proper oil psi as desiard. and also when starting know has fuel knock l/bank ?

My guess is a cracked injector tip...

The cylinder contribution test should have shown this though.

stroken and no more smokin/found it!!!!!!!!! atfer taking to my ihc dealer 6.0 tec next door to my shop said try change out ficm,changed out a little better but still smokin next we pulled the injectors out no#3 r/bank split nozzle ye ya! i am very supriesd that injector contr test did not catch it but hey if you work at a diesel shop you always have some kind of problem,and mecanical problems most of the time dont show up on scan tools !!! thank you mdub707 for your feed back.... if you want a good challang i have a mack ms200 w/renault 6.7 advance weight prob fun/not:tu:
