leaking oil base pan
 

the oil or base pan on my 2004 f250 6 liter engine is rusting and starting to leak. i've been told that the only way to replace it is to raise the engine and replace the pan. that sounds expensive. is there another way or another fix?

Heres what they do to a 7.3 I bet theres a 6.0 version.Not an easy fix,thats why the new 6.7 powerstroke has a plastic oil pan.

6.0 is far easier to fix than a 7.3. 7.3 needs to be yanked to do it. What exactly about lifting the rear of the motor up sounds expensive? I don't follow.
