6.0 cracked head

have a buddy with a 05 6.0 powerstroke he thinks he has a cracked head. hes getting fuel in his coolant im pretty sure. he had a friend that works at a dealership said he can do 2000$ labor without parts and 1400 a head to replace both? has anybody had cracked heads?

See them alot BUT usually its an injector cup thats cracked. Thats only if theres fuel in the coolant once it gets hot. Cracked head will have fuel in the coolant no matter what. Unless you wana drop the $ for the same cup tools i have from whitaker the cab and heads would have to come off to change the cup. Only way to tell is to send the heads to the machine shop.

im not sure if its when its hot or all the time but something is wrong and im thinking he just wants a new set of heads for now. i found a set of remanufactured heads for 440 a peice with warranty off ebay lol.

if your buddy wants to do the work himself and dont have the equptment to lift the cab,, the engine can be pulled in less than a half days work if he has the right tools

well he just dropped 15k for the truck and he wants it to be done right so hes kind of worried if he done everything hes not a mechanic on a diesel and wants one to do it

they arent hard to do just dont drop the rocker arms and youll be good. Pull the cab its fast and easy. half hour and theyre off.
