I have a dumb question!

I was changing my heater hose on my '06 f250 6.0 turbo diesel. When I took of the big tube that comes from the front of the truck and goes to the turbo(I don't know the proper name for it because it is all new to me) it had oil in it. Is it supposed to have oil in that tube?

yes its normal. Its called a CAC (charge air cooler) Tube. Just make sure to clean it with brake clean and a rag otherwise it may pop off when the turbo builds boost.

Yep, normal. Crankcase on these vent into the intake directly in front of the turbo so it's in the whole system.

Ok thanks guys!

Does anyone know why they sell filter kits for this? I have Seen the BD kit
Advertised , anyone think they are worth it or a waste of money?

( don't mean to steal the thread but was wondering this for a while now)

Could just re route it but then you have oil barfing everywhere... Could run a hose from where the PCV vent is and have it go to a catch can with a valve cover breather tapped into it. Catch can as in a moroso overflow tank.

Some guys have them, I never really saw the point. I guess if you start pushing a lot of boost it might be troublesome keeping the boots on the intercooler on, as they have been known to pop off under a decent amount of boost, and the oil doesn't help that cause.
