05 F350 6.0 diesel help
 
my 2005 F 350 6.0 just wont start I replaced oil And Filter, i also replaced fuel filters and it just wont start. ca anyone please help?

These trucks are known to be touchy on filters.... esp. the type used. What brand did you use? Generic? they have issues with collapsing the elements or the o-rings failing.

when changing any filters ya gotta go with Motorcraft. in the case of the oil filter it could be different size. what this does is: you have a valve in the bottom of the oil resivior and if your stock filter (motocraft) doesn't compress that valve all you oil will bypass and not be filtered. they say the non motocraft filters are a bit smaller enough to make a difference... and as far as the fuel filers.... just put an air dog 2 on it.

i forgot to mention that the mentioned truck already had this no start condition before i did the oil And filters change , as far as the filters I used they were Wix filters by carquest.
When i tried to start it after i changed filters I did notice hearing a air hissing sound by
the secondary fuel filter bowl can it be the fuel regulator valve where the return line leaves back to fuel pump ? what are the fuel pressure specs? how do you check fuel pressure? any help is greatly appreciated THANKS

to check your fuel pressure you need the gauge and an assortment of fittings.. i used a snap-on kit.. but there is a port (with a plug in it) on the front of the bowl that u pull the plug and screw in your gauge. when i checked mine my pressure was low and had to buy a fuel pressure reg. rebuild kit from ford... with the blue spring.

Same Issue
 
I have the same issue with my truck, a hissing sound can be heard from the secondary filter. However I replaced my fuel reg. and still I have a hissing noise. Any advice? I recently discovered that my IPR valve on the HPOP was slightly loose - just loose as in not tightened all the way down, is it possible that my vehicle was not retaining oil pressure to open the injectors?

you would have to check your oil pressure.. if it has a no start issue its possible..did you snug up your ipr? as far as hissing you could have rolled the o-ring on re-installation. but if it does hiss that means you have air in your lines or your pulling air into your fuel also not good for your fuel system.. check oil and fuel pressure.

Use motorcraft or international filters only on these.

We need a lot more info to diagnose this. Obviously the truck had this problem BEFORE your oil change and fuel filter change, wich has since created more problems, but lets step back and walk through the original problem of the no start, we need a LOT more info here...

fuel pressure should be 55psi + or - 5psi according to Ford. If it's less than 45, you're doing damage, but you should still be able to get it started.

When you crank, do you get any smoke out the exhaust, if so what color?

when i crank it it throws alittle black smoke ,once it starts it keeps on starting again the problem is the next morning it doesnt want to start. I also noticed the injnectors click loud
when it starts and very low when it does not start
