quick help question

History on the truck. 2005 Ford F-250 67K miles. Straight piped, afe stage 2, sct with innovative tunes. Has RCD egr delete done about 15K miles ago and new oil cooler. Truck is not puking and have a new radiator cap so i've eliminated those....

I recently pulled my exhaust off to swap on my catted stuff to pass smog inspection. After doing so I am noticing a squealing sound. Keep in mind this happened literally 10 minutes after pulling my straight pipe and swapping on my cat. So after looking around i notice some soot around where my downpipe meets the turbo... Look even more and notice the downpipe is sticking out of the v band clamp and for sure leaking. I though it was positive my problem... fixed and still have same sound....Did i crack a y-pipe? Possibility of the downpipe still leaking? I am not losing any power whatsoever, no loss of boost from before and no smoke or anything weird.... any help???

Anyone? I've never had and exhaust/boost leak on my strokes before so I'm not sure where to look next?

Possible cat reversed?? Could cause back pressure. Only other thing I can think of is a cracked y pipe or downpipe. I sure youll hear more from others soon after the 3 day weekend.

Cat was is a one way only mount. Plus the noise is there after I removed it. The cat was removed imeadiatly after the smog was done. I was hoping to fix it over the long weekend so I may be digging into it tomorrow. Anybody way to check the y pipe. I have the RCD delete pipe on the pass side and stock up pipe on the driver side. I'll check those too

yeah the cats on these aren't like a typical cat on a gas car, even if you put it on backwards it would do nothing. A screen for a sliding door is more restrictive than these things, they just kill noise is all.

Sounds like a cracked up-pipe to me, kind of common actually. When mine did it I had a really high pitched squeal when the truck was started up, and it would remain there until it got up to temp and kind of go away, never lost boost and couldn't ever see where it was leaking, but it was cracked for sure.

So after searching online and finding some possible causes i did some digging around. I checked and retightened all intercooler pipes one was a little loose( however like I said I was not loosing any boost), I noticed my intake clamp to my turbo was a little loose. Started the truck and couldnt feel any air being sucked in. Also swapped my rcd egr delete cap back on. I dunno if it was a loose intercooler pipe, intake, or my egr valve but it's gone. Only problem my trucks ever given me and that was it...Thanks for all your help.
