need help

I just put 5000 dollars in my motor on head studs egr delete oil cooler rebuild clutch fan water pump all 8 glow plugs and some other things but I put two thousand miles on it and the coolant temp is starting to rise again and is getting a little rougher start I'm not sure what it could be any help would be appreciated

Gonna need a lot more info brother...
why was all this work done?
Rough start? Elaborate, any smoke? what color?
What coolant temps are you seeing?
What's the oil temps?
Who did the studs? How were they done? What head gaskets used?
Which egr delete?

Any more info you can give the better. A lot more info about the headstud job will help too, like were the heads decked? Magnafluxed? anything of that sort...

:humm:

:c:

Rough start it idles rough for a couple seconds then idles right and will blow some white smoke when first started the heads were magnafluxed and where installed with arp studs and ford gaskets. Its a sinister egr delete kit and my coolant temp gauge will slowly go up and then say check guage I'm not sure what my oil temp is

So the heads were not decked?
What does this white smoke smell like? Sweet like coolant or burn your eyes a little like fuel? That will tell us which direction to start looking.

Have you tested your FICM at all?

Again, why was all of this work done? Out of necessity or preventative?

I needed to do it and the heads were perfect the mechanic I had do it. I had carman ford do it they are located in new castle de I had them do it because I know the mechanic and everyone tells me he has rewards for being the best 6.0 mechanic on the east coast. It smells like fuel and no I haven't tested it at all. About a year ago I got erics custon tuned ficm with his moderate tune and he put the voltage up to 58.

I'm guessing an injector issue, either voltage or the injector itself. Are they all stock injectors?

I am like 100 percent sure the injector is causing the rough start but I can not figure out why the coolant temp gauge is rising

Those guages on the factory dash are useless. You really need to get some exact numbers. Could be a few things. I've read about certain strategies not allowing the fan to come on with an EGR delete believe it or not, but either way it shouldn't be getting that hot for no reason.

Can you hear your fan running?

Who actually checked the heads? The Ford mechanic? Because most guys are of the opinion that Ford's spec for flatness SUCKS, which is why most guys doing headgaskets will take the heads to a machine shop to be decked, INCLUDING NEW HEADS from Ferd. :c:

Your smoke at first start up is a good indiaction of an injector heading south, or the FICM heading south. Eric can tune them, but he can NOT put them up to 58V, They send them to Swamps for that, and Swamps sends him their's for the tuning. They work with each other on that regard. So if Swamps did your 58V mod, it should be good, since they replace and repair a lot of components as well. Might be worth your while to try some Rev-X to see if the injector cleans up, but it could also be something like an o-ring on the injector.

I was told by the ford mechanic and the machine shop in newark de that the heads went to that they good. And yes I can hear the fan kick on it kicks on when the gauge goes up. And how do you test the ficm.

I don't see the FICM being the answer to your high coolant temps though. It might get rid of the rough idle and smoke on start up though.
