egr delete kit

i have an 04 ford f250 6.0 and i am going to do the egr delete. when i do the delete do i have to do the whole thing like delete the valve and the cooler or can i just delete the valve and when i unplug the valve do i just leave the plug under the hood and is there a way to make the check engine light go away with the SCT livewire tuner.... let me know

The cooler is the thing that kills you. If anything, I would delete the cooler, and leave the valve in.
|
Agreed. Just do a whole delete if you live in a state where it's not checked. Cali is about the only one that comes to mind.
You need custom tunes for your Livewire to have the light turned off, but with the livewire you should be running custom anyways. :c: |
Some '04 trucks will not throw the EGR codes. Try unplugging the EGR valve first and then drive around for a bit. If you get the code or CEL your SCT tuning will need to be adjusted to limit EGR function hence the CEL or code will not appear.
|
Oh yeah, never even looked at the year of his truck! Brain fart! Some WILL still throw the code though. The only 04 I ever did an EGR delete on had a CEL immediately.
|
if i did my 06 6.0 woould it throw a code
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- sry i didn't write this before but i don't have mine chipped it has ford studs, new factory turbo, and new factory oil cooler, and New factory EGR |
Ford doesn't use studs. Yes you will throw a code.
|
I did the sinister egr delete I left my valve hooked up and just zipped tied it out of the way so there's no check engine light or code thrown
|
got my cooler welded both sides, still supports that half of the y pipe and still provides coolant and egr valve for guvmint officials in cali.
