oil in exhaust after injector swap

Ok, I got my injectors put in. It was a hard start as expected but a ton of white smoke at idle. Then I noticed there was oil dripping out of the tip. I need help!

I'm not really sure why you would have oil dripping out of there... I know most guys say after an injector swap it can take a bit to get it restarted and it will run rough for a little while until all the air is bled out of the high pressure oil system. Most say you really have to run them hard to get them back to normal, but I'm not sure about the oil... I'll have to think on this...

I really hope this isn't the start of problems with those RCD injectors man... But I gotta say, this sounds all too familiar.

I did some research and some guys say there should be a poping sound when you push the injectors in. Some guys tap them with a rubber hammer to get them to seat in the hole. I torqued them to specs so i dont understand how oil would get through. If it is the injectors they have a warranty on them. Im going to break it down again and take a look. Tap them in with a rubber hammer, torque them down again and see if the oil still comes out of the exhaust. If so im going to take it to have it looked at. When it was running it was idling and wasn't missing out. Surprisingly it ran well besides the oil. Im thinking that some how the oil is getting past the injectors into the block. The only thing im worried about it Hydro locking the engine. If that oil gets past the rings on the pistons im in trouble.

I talked to a 6.0 tech and he thinks its the Turbo. I just find it hard to belive there was NO problems with the turbo before the new injectors then as soon as i fire it up after the install the turbo magically takes a crap.

lol i would never tap an injector in with a hammer... I set them in the hole and run em in with an air ratchet til snug then torque the hold down. Never had one pop out. Did you clean the injector cups? If not then youll have some excess oil/fuel drip down in the cylinders. Depending on the ammount of fuel/oil dumped youll have drips comming out the tail pipe. Normal. I assume you went aftermarket, ford usually dont have that issue unless you have a bad one out of the box that results in the engine hydrolocking... white smoke is normal thick, billowing cloud that lasts 5 minutes at an idle. Unless you go outside and hold it wide open then it lasts for about 30 seconds to a minute...

If the turbo took a crap it will have oil leaking out of the down pipe and every joint in the exhaust. Thats if the rear seal went, front seal your having a run away. Turbos that blow the rear seal usually the engine will run low on oil til it dies not from seizing up from lack of oil to power injectors.
