Leaf Sprung 99-04 Front Leveling Kit advice needed!
 

Hey fellas! Its time for me to level out the rig and I wanted to know what you other leaf sprung guys have done. Theres gotta be 6 or 7 different options out there on eBay right now. I want to do this right and dont want to wear $1000 worth of tires out early or run into any problems. So far the most reliable looking kit I see is this one Ford F250 F350 Super Duty 2.5
I like that its replacement leafs and not just a block or leaf pack. Ive also seen various assortments of shackle kits.

I'm thinking the full leaf kit is worth the $150 or so over the next most expensive kit... let me know if you guys think different

Also anyone who has leveled their truck already... you run into any issues needing anything other than the track bar? Brake lines drop pitman etc?

Your better off searching for a kit that includes the extended brake lines for the front Otherwise youll be like a moron who keeps comming back complaining his brakes are spongey. As for your tires, thats the 1 thing i hate when installing lifts/level kits is the alignments. Pay for the top dollar kits that include what the NEW alignment angles should be. Other wise your going to wipe the front tires out. And the same moron customer who complains his brakes are spongey also has 38 12.50 18s on his truck and complains of a wobble at higher speeds 70+ he had a saturday afternoon with some friends and beers and installed a lift kit from ebay. Dont know what the alignment angles should be at, and his tires are F*cked up on the front. I know how to fix it, but without the new angles everytime i put it on the rack everything is spot on in the green. have adjusted drag link to correct his crooked steering wheel, the wobble is from the front tires not being toe'd in at stock angles the higher speeds and wider tire centrifugal motion takes over and pulls the tires backwards causing the steering wheel to jerk violently left to right (wore out inner tie rod and outer ends) and the whole truck felt like going down a steep hill on a skateboard with lose trucks.

The Camber is a pain in the ass to adjust on these things. Collapse the ball joints pound the slugs out and pound the new ones in and it takes HOURS getting it right, between the originals being siezed in and finding the perfect slug... the slugs act as shims to push the wheel in or out.

you get what you pay for. Cheaper isnt always better.

Well that option I posted up there is the most expensive and intricate leveling kit I can find. I dont see any that come with extended brake lines, and it doesnt really look like you need them for just 2.5 inches worth of lift in the front. I could be wrong here but unless someone knows more than me, thats the best leveling kit on the market for these trucks right now. Im not planning on going cheap on this, all I want is my truck to sit level and still be safe and reliable.

I have an 04 f-350 and installed a 2.5 leveling kit and can run 35s with no problems or rubbing. It was the spring pack that goes under the factory spring and works and rides great, but i cant recall the name because I bought it from a local supplier. Hopes this helps.

the best leaf spring leveling kit is the spring hanger kit . lots of brands,fab tech,Donahue,trail master, some cheap copies on ebay they work great and do not effect your stock ride.

I had a 6.5" Procomp lift on my '04 and I didnt need extended brake lines everything fit fine. Good kit, ran 37s with it. You definetly won't need longer brake lines with a leveling kit. I installed the kit myself, then had an alignment done at a tire shop and they had no problems getting the alignment done.
