New to the site

New to the site, I work on powerstrokes every single day. Love working on 6.0s and 6.4s, despise 7.3s, (aside from being an underpowered oil leaking oil pan rotting block cracking pig stock form theyre reliable and thats the only thing they have going for them) and 6.7s are starting to show thier ugly face. Few small issues with them. I know 6.0s almost like the back of my hand and 6.4s just as well. Have any technical questions or need advice glad to be of help. Ive installed everything from EGR delete kits, custom exhausts, chips, to Head studs and just about every performace component thinkable for a 6.0 both in and out of the dealership.

copake ny a small little town in the middle of nowheres.

You're in NY? You work at a Ferd dealer? I am having a hell of a time finding anywhere to get work done on my truck, in this area, the jackolanterns are smarter than the diesel techs. You're not terribly far. I live in Richfield Springs right now, but travel to Albany a bit. You're like what, an hour south of there?

You should check out the upstate NY diesel club too, I think there may be a link somewhere on diesel bombers for it, but anyways, www.upstatebombers.com we do dyno days, get togethers, wrench days, whatever. Check it out sometime. :c:

nice will do.

see the issue with ford dealers is they dont have many cert diesel techs... i worked at johnson ford in kingston for my internships... They opened up thier truck shop which used to be the old central hudson electric building. they hired me and 4 of my friends. all of us but 1 were either fired or laid off when it slowed down, they kept my buddy dennis because he wasnt going back to school me and him were the best 2. I learn and learn fast and they liked how i could bang out 3-4 headgaskets a week inbetween banging out dozens of egr coolers. They had 2 cert diesel techs then me and dennis doing engine work and 1 guy who was 2 classes away from being certified (back in 08 before you needed the ecoboost to be diesel cert)

SOOOO what they do is stick good mechanics with thier top techs the top techs teach us how to diagnose and wrench quick tips yadda yadda. Im 3 classes away from diesel cert. i am 6.0 6.4 and need the eco boost and then 6.7 to be diesel cert. I hate working on cars and absolutley refuse to. Us diesel guys get to pick and choose our jobs 98% of the time. I refuse 7.3s allthough i will do oil pans and rear mains i can do an oil pan/rear main in 2 hours and it pays 14-15 to do... Not sure. I hate 7.3s because it takes me more time to R&R a turbo than a 6.4 cab on, injectors i have yet to figure out how to keep the hold downs from stripping bought thin low profile 8mm wrench and still manage to round off the hold down bolts, and i hate doing oil coolers in them. good thing they were before my time or i would never touch one.
