trailer brakes fuel level

On my 05 6.0l every now and then my trailer brake will light up and on the dash it will say trailer disconnected. and none of my trailers have trailer brakes. also my fuel level guage to day went from 3/4 to empty and said low fuel level, and i am certain it was at only half. if you guys have any ideas would be really helpfull. thanks. d

check fuses first, ive replaced a few clusters in 05-07s for all kinds of issues. had 1 that the water in fuel light came on intermittently and i pulled the HMFC and replaced the filter and sensor took fuel samples from the tank and had no signs of water or other contamination in found it to be the cluster. could also try a simple reprogram for the cluster at a dealership.

thats a good idea. i got to go there any way, i just took a road trip blew out a hub cap, blew the plastic charged air cooler pipe, cracked the window, smashed 3 birds and a stray shopping cart:td:

Sounds like a great weekendlol

as for the trailer... are you using a splitter or do you have the correct plug on the trailer. I have had issues with some of those.

i have a 7 pin in the bed and a 4 pin at the bumper. that light and alarm will come on pulling trailer and empty. i pulled the fuse for the controller. and it doesnt come on as often. im going to tear into the relays tomorrow. stupid 12 hr shifts at work.lol

I here you on the 12hr. shifts:argh: If I were you I would definately check that 7 pin in the bed first. Seeing as it is the only one that should be connected to the built-in break controler. Surf the web and I bet you can find the propper wiring schematic for your truck or take it by the closest trailor sales shop and have them take a look:tu:
