more HP for 6.0 without programmer/chip
I have a 2005 powerstroke with a 4in. Turboback exhaust system, my dad isn't wanting me to chip it, what can I do to get more HP out of it without a chip/programmer?

Not much. Not much at all.
You can do the Zoodad mod, which is basically cutting a hole in the plastic behind the grill to let more air in directly, you can google this for all the info you want. You can install an intake, but honestly the stocker is awesome, will filter better, and isn't really restricting it... Not much else man. |
Thanks, if I where to get a chip/programmer which is the best out there?

Upgrades that are on the reliability side more than performance are head studs ($500ish), EGR delete or upgraded cooler, oil cooler upgrade (BulletProof has a combo pack with both of these and all necessary installation components for $2200), coolant filter (about $140). It is wise to do these even if you don't plan on a programmer. As far as tuners go, SCT with custom tunes, and stud your heads. Some guys can get away with running a hot tune on stock head bolts but it's like playing Russian Roulette with half the chambers full, just not worth the risk if you ask me.

Yeah, I'd do some reliability upgrades first. The ONLY programmer you should consider is SCT with custom tunes. If you're worried about reliability, get a mild street tune and just stress to the person writing the tunes you want to keep it together.
