03 Ford wont start.

My friend has a 03 ford 250 6.0 just bought it we replaced number 4 injector last weekend and it fixed his running like crap problem. Drove fine all week. Started skipping yesterday and does not start. just turns over. the fuel pump is running and fuel is coming out of filter. and thats as far as we got. Cause he know nothing and I got a dodge diesel and there night and day of each other. SO if some one knows of stuff for us to check we will try thrm

We also hooked up a little autozone scanner and got no Codes.

Is there any smoke coming out of the exhaust? If no smoke, means no injectors are firing, could be the FICM (fuel injection control module), or even the HPOP (High Pressure Oil Pump). Both of these are required to run the injectors. Let me know if there is smoke or not.

No smoke? Is there a way to check those 2 things?

Does your oil pressure gauge come up on the dash(low pressure pump)? If not you could have an issue getting oil to the reservoir in the engine valley. Also could have a weak fuel or hpop. You would need a good scan tool to check if you are making the hpo you need to fire the injectors.

FICM check

1. Remove the two bolts that hold the coolant reservoir to the cowl and push the reservoir out of the way forward and to your right. You do not need to disconnect any of the hoses.
2. On top of the FICM is a small cover held on by two #20 Torx screws; remove these two screws and pry the cover off.
3. On 2003 and early 2004 trucks, you will see 7 screw heads under the cover. On 2004 and later trucks you will see 4 screws

4. Take a multi-meter set on DC volts and connect the ground lead to battery negative, and with the key ON measure the voltage at the screw on your right—closest to the driver’s side fender. Do not let the probe short against the case! The voltage should be right at 48 volts. Anything between 47 and 49 is good.
5. Have an assistant cycle the key and measure the voltage during the initial key-on buzz test. Voltage should not drop below 46 volts.
6. Next measure the voltage while cranking the engine. If voltage stays at or above 45-46 volts, the FICM is fine. Abnormally low battery voltage can give a false low FICM voltage reading, so make sure your batteries are good.

If the voltage is above 46 volts in all the tests, your FICM is in excellent condition. If it is between 36 and 45 volts its OK, but not great. If it is between 25 and 35 volts, you have serious FICM problems.

Being he has an 03, it's a different screw on the FICM to test:

For 7-screw FICM's it is the left-most screw in the row of 4 screws. For 4-screw FICM's it is the right-most screw.

Cranking and not firing and no smoke coming out tells me it's something not pushing the injectors at all. FICM is the first place to look and the easiest to check. Could also be a bad HPOP, or even low on oil too.
