EGT Gauge Probe
I own a 2005 F350 Diesel 4x4 Crew Cab Long Bed and I want to add some gauges. The question is if I drill and tap for a EGT probe and install it will it void my warranty?

I Have never heard of any troubles with this
|
I have never heard anybody have warranty problems due to installing a EGT Probe.

We have never heard of this issue either, but since your warranty concerned, to put your mind as ease, I would recommend going to talk to your local service manager about it and see how he views it. All dealers are different with the aftermarket industry.

I feel the only way that your warranty would get voided is if when you drill and tapp the manifold the shavings get in there and mess somthing up, what i did was kept a shop vac on the drill and tap at all times and when i was through i sucked it out and let the truck sit and idle for 5 minutes so in case there are some shavings it wont get your turbo like it would if you were driving!

I did the same as roadrage yesterday and it was an easy install.... Much easier access than I expected.
|
I don't think the warrenty will be violated, there could be problems if you had a problem and the dealer wanted make a big deal about the repair they may try to blame you for the problem. I agree with the others, ask your service manager.

hmm maybe call the dealer???

Had no problems with EGT probe interfering with my Warranty

to be honest - I have NEVER in the year that I have been in diesels and the days upon days I've spent reading threads and talking to people heard of anyone having their warranty voided b/c of an EGT guage...
