no fuel pressure
no power
the truck was idling okay then i pulled a away died no power definately no fuel pressure... i had installed the electric fuel pressure sensor in the test port by the oem fuel filter on the motor i checked for leaks and there is none the air dog comes on ...then shuts off i went to the gas station and filled up two jerry cans of diesel and filled up so gauge was accurate 3/4 full There was no water coming out of fuel bowl on air dog and the filters are tight thinking may be sucking air at the new fitting i put on I have to install the pod on corner post so i can mount the fuel pressure gauge:hellox: ---AutoMerged DoublePost--- okay had truck charge all night primed the air dog two ( took first filter off and filled up) took off the fuel filter housing on motor turned key on and diesel came spraying out so i have pressure:hellox: Still does not start ---AutoMerged DoublePost--- hooked up fuel gauge and only shows 10 psi with the ait dog two kit and goes down to 0 psi |
What gauge? It could just be a faulty sender. Still not running/driving though?

okay another power stroke night:jump:
i figured out the filters had too be looked at... I phoned air dog hot line twice ....nobody has called back....i took the factory engine mounted fuel filter out and ......BINGO..... there was a littlle plastic check valve bouncing inside the filter.... I guess it was restricting fuel flow at higher rpm.....AMAZING removed filter completly and 65psi pressure constant...all the way up the rev limit So i will clear the codes again and see what i get<< Just to let every one know with 58 volt ficm up grade you will allways get the P6011 code pop up:hellox: |
I think you can have the FICM reprogrammed at Ford to get rid of that code. I think that code comes up with a FICM that wasn't programmed for the truck is used. It's not an issue, but I think you can get rid of it if it bothers you enough.
Glad you got it figured out! |
The truck stays at 60 psi under load and 65 idling at 1000
runs really good :hellox: I can not believe the problems over a stupid fuel filter.... There was a check valve inside the filter so idling let fuel in.... under load shuts the gas off in bowl... You can not buy the gas filters separately from Ford.... Ford wanted 96.00 plus 15 percent tax.....:s: but last month bought a OEM factory Ford battery high cranking amp for 120.00 go figure |
Kragen/shucks auto parts sell the motorcraft fuel filter KIT for roughly $59. I found one on ebay for $45. never buy parts from Ford unless I really have to. Recently bought the Speed Sensor unit for the rear axel housing. Ford charged me $104 for it. then found it at Napa Autoparts for about $40. SUCKS..

Go to local international dealer and get fuel filters for a VT365, they're the same. They're also under $40 most of the time.

i just need the engine mounted gas filter
because of the air dog two kit i am still waiting for air dog to call me back regarding no fuel pressure I have called them twice and talked to a live person both times |
You're not going to be able to buy just the one. You really shouldn't ever have to change the thing anyways, since the AD will be doing most of the filtering. If you do, unfortunately you need to buy the entire kit.
The cheapest place to get it is the International dealer. You can also by-pass the entire fuel bowl up on top. Run the fuel line from the AD up to the motor, put a "Y" in it, and feed those lines directly into the heads. Then just plug the holes on the fuel bowl. |
I will probably leave it a lone running 60 psi pressure on gauge
gauge is stable now If i ran direct What do i do with the return line back to tank... |
