I'd say your fuel might have gelled up a little, With temps like that you should add some winter time Power Service Diesel Kleen. Just keep an eye on it and you should be fine as long as it doesn't get any worse
I would say never ignore a check engine light until you know the code. It could be on for a random issue that all it needs is cleared but also a more serious issue that can cause damage and big bucks. At least have the code pulled. My2cents
