If you are going to dish out some money dish it out on Valvoline Premium extreme 5w-40.

I've seen oil analysis of RP for some of their other products, and you couldn't pay me to put that stuff in my truck. The most expensive part about it, is the purple dye. :pca1:

Go to powerstrokenation.com and go to the fluids/oils/additives section and read. The most recent that comes to mind was a guy who tows quite often with his truck and was trying different differential fluids. The RP performed just terribly on the oil analysis. Shaeffers and Amsoil were among the best.

There is this.... It is linked on amsoils website for obvious reasons, but still a good read...

I've also heard that people running royal purple in powerstrokes do not like it. I would suggest sticking with Motorcraft 15w-40 or rotella T5 or T6 in a 10w-30, especially in the upcoming winter months

My truck ran the best on Amsoil, but it got to be too much $$ for me. It was $151 for the oil and the filter just to do it myself. I can get std. rotella for $50 or so. Which is what I run now.

I've heard of Dino Rotella foaming in the crankcase. Just hoo haa or have you actually heard truth to this? I've only run the rotella T5 not the Dino

No clue. I don't see how it would!? I've used it in my race quads before too, was supposed to be one of the best oils you could get. We were running 14:1 compression at 10k rpms... never had any troubles there...
