6.0 fuel comming out exhaust and white smoke horribly

a friend of mine has a 6.0 truck, the fuel is dumping right out of the exhaust pipe and it white smokes horribly. i understand it has a bad injector, ford says that it may have possible head damage, and a bent rod. how can they tell it has a bent rod with just using a scan tool? just curious, I am new with these engines, i am a dodge guy

also is their a forum i can read for the best way to remove the one head? number 7 injector is the problem but i wanna pull the head.

thanks guys!

If a cylinder performance test shows low in #7 and there is a ton of fuel in the cylinder(usualy caused by an injector tip breaking off) it could hydro lock the cylinder and bend a rod. Does it have any fuel in the oil? I've had a couple of these issue lately on the 6.0 and they both had holes in the pistons. Pull the glow plug and see if its intact or missing the end.

ok i can do that, but honestly i just dont smell any fuel in the oil and it hasnt been over full, but i will pull a glow plug out and see what i can find out.
thanks for the help! sometimes it is really helpful to get on here and get someone elses opinion!
Also if we get the head off, and there is a hole in the piston, are these 6.0 worth fixing or should we find another engine?
thanks!

Shawn Ellerton (1200ish rwhp 6.0) had an issue with a cracked piston in his motor, he literally just threw another stocker in and ran it. It lasted for a little while longer like that, but he's also running mid 10's in a crew cab.

I'd fix it personally, if the whole cylinder is trash, you may want to get another short block or something.

Fix it. The piston and ring set is cheap enough. The problem with a used engine is you don't know what your getting. The big thing I always ask. DID IT RUN UPSIDE DOWN?

yeah i think we are gonna get it apart and see what we got, and fix it. would you go ahead and pull the engine? or just take the head off that side first?
