2003 6.0 no start

Ok, I am currently working on a 2003 F350 with the 6.0 and it currently won't start. I tore the top end apart inspecting all the high pressure oil components. I also replaced the screen because part of it was missing. I also dropped the oil pan to inspect the pick up tube as well as inspected the oil pump. I did all this because I did not have trouble codes to trace. I also have plenty of fuel pressure. Now the last test I did was with the FICM and it appears to be ok. My voltage reading is 47.8-47.9. I am at a loss as to what to check next. By the way, how all this started was when we were driving the truck, it just died and would not start again. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Peace out!

did you check the ground system...

Had similiar problem and it was a bad ground to engine

So does the truck turn over fast or grunts....

That is why i wish truck came with volt meter:nope:

Engine grounds are good and right now I have to recharge the batteries due to over cranking. Prior to that cranking was fine.

What are you using to read the codes and/or where did you bring it to have the codes read?

You said you had a piece missing out of the screen under the HPOP? That's kind of scary to me.

So it will crank over, but just wont run correct? ICP sounds like a possibility too.

I actually work in a shop for the Air National Guard and we use a SOLEX scanner. I searched throughout the high pressure side and could not find the piece of screen. It was so brittle that it practically disentigrated (sp) in my hand. The truck cranks fine just no start. Our cops were driving it one day and it just shut off as if you turned the ignition off.

Sounds like the ICP to me too. Im with Mdub on this one.

Thanks for your reply, I will target that part today and post what I found.

Problem solved! At least for now. Not sure what was the final repair though. Here is what I have done and also found in the process. First off the wrong oil filter cap was used not allowing the by-pass to work also resulting in the button on the top of the oil tube for the by-pass to break. I took the oil cooler apart and found the pieces in there but I also found one of the o ring gaskets to be bad. Apparently they used rtv instead of the gasket and had a gap in it, not completely sealing it. I also replaced the HPOP screen, replaced all the "O" rings for everything up top that I took apart to inspect. I also inspected the oil pump and re-primed it prior to reinstalling the cover. Lastly I changed oil, filter and fuel filters. I let it set over the weekend and was getting ready to test my ICP and boom, it started and has been running fine ever since. I wish I could point out specifically what fixed it but could be a combination of things. I TRUELY appreciate all your replies and suggestions and for pointing me in the right direction. By the way, we use a SOLUS and not a SOLEX scanner. It was a long day. Thanks again.
