oil presure sending unit
 

I have a 05 F250 6.0 and was having problems with the oil presure gauge dropping to 0 at lower RPM's. went to replace the sending unit and found the threads inside the plate that the sending unit screws into to be stripped. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix my problem?

Drill and tap to next size up if you can, or a Heli-coil.

I fixed and sold the 05 and buying a 06 F350 dually with 14K on it. The ac only blows on defrost mode, any suggestions?

Thinking of installing the edge performance chip in my 2006 F350 but I have a couple of questions first.
Will it hurt my motor?
Do I need to istall after market intake and exhaust? If so which ones
Will it improve my mpg?
Should I install a billet tourq converter?

Vacuum leak on the hubs or the lines going to the hubs, or possibly the diaphram in the pump. It's on the passenger side inner fender under the hood, little black thing with something like 3 lines going in/out of it.
Quite common, mines doing it to. Makes it so the 4x4 hubs don't auto engage.

Skip the Edge, get an SCT with custom tunes. To answer your questions:
It will wake the truck up, but at what cost, the Edge doesn't tune your tranny and you wont get the safe reliable and level of power that you will with custom tunes from an SCT.

You don't NEED to install aftermarket intake or exhaust. Stock intake is the best on the market and will safely support up to 500RWHP, stock exhaust you can scrap. It's not necessary to change out, but will help as a 4" turbo back will help it breathe and get heat out of it faster. MBRP is a real popular choice, and good quality. There are also budget exhausts out there, you can scoop up a 4" TB for about $265 sometimes.

Will it improve MPG? Possibly, but certainly don't plan on it. Mod for power and if you happen to gain MPG, then be happy. I will say I didn't LOSE any mpg, and I drive like an a-hole.

No need for a TC (torqe converter) the stock one in a 5R110 is a triple disk unit already and can take a pretty good punishment. The whole 5R110 is a great tranny, but the key to making an electronically controlled transmission like this live is with good custom tunign.

I recommend Innovative Diesel, GoGo, GOS performance, or another reputable vendor. I personally use Innovative Diesel. If you call them up tell them what you're looking for they will get all of your info about your style and truck and set you up with a good package.

I've been told performance chips will damage your motor, is this true? I don't drive the truck hard but I do pull a 15000 lbs trailer.

yes it is hard on the heads and head gasket and studs

if you run a aggresive tune (chip) it is harder on the motor increasing the exhaust temp...
thats is why they reccomend a exhaust temp gauge:hellox:

A good towing tune will do a lot more good than it is stock. If you put a real hot tune on and go out and dog on it all the time, then yes it will hurt it. Just have to be smart and watch your gauges.

No chips for 6.0's, programmers only. We can't run switch on the fly chips, because the transmission physically can not be changed on the fly.
